Common questions

Do I need to be technical to understand the report?

Not at all. CyberOne reports are written specifically for non-technical business owners. Every finding is explained in plain language with a specific, step-by-step fix.

What access do you need to my systems?

For the Starter review, mostly a screen-share walkthrough. For Pro, we need read-only access to your cloud admin console (Microsoft 365 or Google Workspace) — we never require admin or password access.

Will the assessment disrupt my business operations?

No. All assessments are conducted remotely and no disruptive or intrusive testing is performed. Your business continues normally throughout.

How is my data handled?

All data is encrypted in transit and at rest, stored securely, and permanently deleted within 30 days of report delivery. A detailed data handling policy is included in every contract.

What if you find something really serious?

That's exactly the point. Critical findings are flagged immediately in the report with clear, prioritised guidance on what to do first. For Shield clients, we can assist with remediation directly.

Can you help us fix the issues you find?

The report gives you step-by-step guidance for every finding. For hands-on assistance, Shield retainer clients get priority support. Ad-hoc remediation assistance is also available as an add-on.

We already have an IT person — do we still need this?

Yes. IT generalists focus on keeping systems running, not security hardening. A CyberOne review is a dedicated second set of eyes on credential exposure, email spoofing, phishing risk, and compliance gaps — areas IT providers often don't have time for.

Is this the same as a penetration test?

No. A penetration test actively attempts to exploit vulnerabilities and typically costs $10,000+. A CyberOne review is a comprehensive assessment of your security posture — ideal for SMBs who've never had any independent review of their security.
